Tomatoes

Tomatoes have always been a tricky one for me. I’ve always eaten cooked tomatoes, be that in ketchup, pasta sauces or cooked as part of a meal. Raw tomatoes however have always been repulsive.

When I had the burger I ate at The Pewsham, part of the salad I left in was a slice of tomato, and I was surprised that I was ok with it, so I decided to give a full fresh tomato a go with my next salad.

I wish I could say my view on them has changed, I’ve tried really hard to try them multiple different ways, but I still despise them. The texture is all wrong, and the flavour is awful. I tried them raw for the final time in a recent salad, and it made me gag. I thought I’d best try a second bite just incase… it was still awful!

Definitely a lesson learnt, moving forwards i’ll be making sure to cook them. On the plus side I’ve discovered 10 minutes in the oven is enough to make them taste nice!
